Absolute Majority

  • Absolute Majority means a party having more than 50% of seat in the House of Parliament.
  • That is Lok Sabha, absolute majority is 273 out of 545. That is more than 50% of seat.
  • This term is used to the general election of Parliament and state legislature, during the selection of the ruling party.

Other types of Majority are Effective, Simple and Special Majority.
